Thanks for an incredible winter! That’s right - Loon Mountain Resort is now closed for the season. Sad face.
But hey – don’t be too sad. While we’re not stoked to see the season end, we've got a lot to be thankful for. This year we opened for skiing and riding on November 8, which is actually the earliest date the mountain has ever opened top-to-bottom. Consistently cold weather and tons of natural snow kept conditions in top form from then on, allowing us to stay open until April 20. If you crunch the numbers, you’ll realize that this winter season was a full two weeks longer than the 2012-13 season. Mother Nature deserves much of the credit – but so do our amazing snowmakers.
As winter fades away, summer’s already coming on strong. Believe it or not, but Loon Mountain will open for summer operations on Memorial Day Weekend (May 24-26)! The resort will remain open weekends through June 15, with daily summer operations beginning on June 21.
This summer, Loon is excited to offer a full range of activities for the entire family. For alpine adventure, visitors can ride New Hampshire’s longest scenic gondola skyride and enjoy spectacular vistas of the White Mountains from the observation tower, eat lunch at the Summit Café, or explore the summit glacial caves and self-guided nature walk. There’s also ziplining, the Aerial Forest Adventure Park, Paul Bunyan’s Backyard, bike rentals, and a whole lot more. To learn more about our summer activities, click here.
And don’t forget about our awesome summer events. The fast and filthy Monster Mud Run is coming up July 12, with the mega-awesome New Hampshire Highland Games coming at us Sept. 19-21. There are a ton of other fun events this summer, so don’t miss out. You can see the full events listing here.
